Dont know much about them but hope they steer away from you all.

With all due respect. . .can we make the Gulf Coast a National Park and keep folks from having to go through this?

The land down there is lovely. . .and would make wonderful park land.

Doesn't camping on the beach sound nice? :)

son is in Sarasota - we are in panhandle - who travels to who (or is that whom)? maybe we all oughta just go to Atlanta or Washington state?

People here in Sarasota are freaking out already - lines at the gas stations and grocery stores getting cleaned out.

We still have our stash of hurricane supplies (bottled water, "d" batteries, canned tuna, etc.) from the start of the season. Stopped and picked up a couple more bottles of wine, just in case...

You are so right. They are calling for a pretty severe right turn for Wilma. Just a slight change in that front coming down from Canada and all the bets are off.
I would invite you to head to Ohio but we are expecting some really cold weather so I wouldn't want you to head north and end up in a snow storm.
I'm thinking Atlanta might be safe but who knows at this point.

Mark, Chuck told me a couple hours ago that the gas stations were 4 deep in lines as he traveled home. He, his lovely wife and my granddog might head for Atlanta if things get a bit too close and if it stays this strong. He thought it was to come in Sat eve at 7 but I thought the report I saw said 7 a.m. Sat, so he's checking in and setting their plans. Are you staying home? Chuck's about 15 miles inland (they have moved to Bradenton) and he's not worried about storm surge - but I had to tell him about the winds. He doesn't recall ever going through one of these hurricanes. They got lucky last year when Arcadia, Charlotte co were struck so badly. Hope you all get lucky this time, too. Hope we do, as well. If not, we are heading for Melissa's house in Co. I want to see her Honda.
