I went to registar for a 'on campus' class this afternoon as part of my degree program.. coming and going I re-affirmed my decision to finish most of my degree on line - #1 reason - TRAFFIC LIGHTS...

Good God, I realize i'm not the worlds' most patient person, I'm an Aries - what can I say, but all those traffic lights would test the patience of Job! I live 25 miles from work.. 30-40 minute commute each way.. it's all highway, that I can handle.. having to go to school from work is 13 miles but took me 45 minutes - at 2 in the afternoon - God help me at 4 when I actually leave for class.. coming home - 27 miles, over an hour to get home.. traffic lights, traffic lights, and more traffic lights.. at least it's just one day a week for 14 weeks.. let alone it's a Public Speaking class on top.. writing a dissertation on love, life and the american way - no problem, talking about it in front of 25 people - not my idea of a good time. I guess that's where positive thoughts come into play.. December 22nd and that class will be done - better yet, and I just found this out yesterday, April 1st (2 days before my bday) i'll be finished forever with my degree.. 1 term earlier than planned.. cool bday present for myself if I don't say so... ok, vented, I feel better now.. time to make some groceries...:)

I did my entire masters degree online. Well, I did have to go to campus for a total of 9 days out of the entire program (3 years for me), but other than that it was all online. I'm all for online degrees and can completely understand your gripe about the drive to campus. I'm so glad that my degree could be completely online like it was.

Congratulations! It seems a smart way to go. My oldest son used on-line technology for some of his coursework as well. He just recently finished his Master degree. It isn't an easier way but it fits better into most adult schedules. If you are a self-starter and able to work independently then you can avoid all that traffic!

It certainly isn't (easier)! You have to be very self motivated. I never even knew I had it in me. ;) But after working the last three years on this degree, I much prefer online learning. I hate driving to a classroom and being stuck sitting in a desk for 3 hours being lectured at and taking notes. I prefer being able to pace out my learning my own way. I know it's not for everyone, but it is certainly my favorite. Though I'm glad I had the face-to-face experience for my undergrad degree...

You all make me very happy! :D I am currently working as VP of Marketing for an online school that offers technology and business bachelor and master degrees (www.americansentinel.edu), and love to hear that online learning is working for people! We have had a lot of success stories, especially from those in the military and working adults who are trying to balance work, family, and schoool.

Online learning has come a long way already and will only continue to get better.
