Why didn't I figure this out sooner?!

Hi guys, remember me?
I have been checking in occasionally, I had ascending aortic aneurysm repair in August 2003. I wanted to get back to the Gym, but back surgery in April 2004, prempted that until about December of 2004. I had instructions not to allow heartbeat to go above 120. (I am on Toprol for irregular pusle and hypertension, (new)) I had difficulty at first keeping pulse down where it should be (I usually use the elliptical machine, had gone 60 minutes prior to surgery) I discovered when I used Mobic for arthritis pain the pulse shot up faster sooner. When I realized I no longer needed the Mobic, this took about 6 months for all this to transpire. without the Mobic the pulse stayed pretty well down, but occasionally I had to stop sooner than I would have liked to keep pulse under 120.
As I had gradually worked up to 55 - 60 minutes I had not been drinking water while exercising. One day I brought some water, and drank it whilst exercising. Lo and Behold, I am so dumb, my pulse stayed under 115 all the time. The next day I brought Ice water, and drank some prior to exercising, so I was well hydrated. The pulse now doesn't get above 110 or so, now I don't have to watch the pulse meter so closely.
Now I can get back to the length of time I like, helps with the weight, and the cholesterol and just feeling good.........
Thanks for listening. Don't forget to DRINK that water alla time you exercise. I am happy camper.
lotsa love,
Corky

I couldn't run more than two miles until I discovered motion control shoes (New Balance) and sips of Gatorade! Who'da thunk it? :)

One of the things I have learned working out here in FL is to hydrate both before and during my triathlon workouts.
I always take two water bottles of Gatorade with me on my regular 15-25 mile bike rides, and three bottles on long rides (40+ miles).
When I run I'll carry a bottle with me any time I'm running more than a couple of miles and take a sip every five minutes or so.
I've also recently started taking a bottle of Gatorade to the pool. I put it at the end of my lane and take a quick drink between swim sets.
