I asked my Mom and she cant remeber the name of the procedure, but when I was 2 months I had Open Heart to have Aortic cut so the blood would flow better. This was back in 82, but I know they no longer do this procedure anymore, it is easier nowadays.

I was diagnosed with Aortic Stenosis.

Sounds like it could have been resection of subaortic membrane /septal myectomy.
 
It's aortic valvulotomy. I had mine in '72. Basically converts your valve from being stenotic to insufficient (lots of regurgitation). I think back then they tended to avoid avoid using artificial valves in younger patients.
