Received this from a friend today, I just checked and it's true! Please tell me I'm not the only one who didn't know this either:

Bet you get up and go to the kitchen as soon as you read this to check it out:) Whoever looks at the end of your aluminum foil box? What a fantastic idea!

I've been using aluminum foil for more years than I care to remember. Great stuff, but sometimes it can be a pain. You know, like when you are in the middle of doing something and you try to pull some foil out and the roll comes out of the box.

Then you have to put the roll back in the box and start over. The darn roll always comes out at the wrong time. Well, I would like to share this with you.

Yesterday I went to throw out an empty reynolds foil box and for some reason I turned it and looked at the end of the box. And written on the end it said, "Press tab to lock end," or "Press to secure roll." Right there on the end of the box is a tab to lock the roll in place. How long has this little locking tab been there? I then looked at a generic brand of aluminum foil and it had one too. I then looked at a box of Saran wrap and it had one too! I can't count the number of times the Saran wrap roll has jumped out when I was trying to cover something up.

I'm sharing this with everyone who didn't know this and those of you who already knew it. I hope I'm not the only person that didn't know this.... Hugs ,Donna .

LOL....no idea:)...I will check it when I get home....you learn sonething new every day:)

Yep your right, I did get up to check my roll of aluminum foil, but I have NO tabs. :(
I have a Canadian Brand called Alcan. I find it to be stronger than Reynolds and cheaper.

You know what I couldn't help myself I had to get up to check.....and lo and behold we have those tabs here in Australia too.
oh my god...I just check again and they all have them.
the Foil the Cling wrap and oven bake paper...they all have them...oh my god the small things that excite me:p

Thanks for the tip I especially have that problem with the Saran Wrap!

My roll of Glad Cling Wrap has the little red push tab on each end....VERY COOL!!
The generic brand of foil has no tabs; but it may be easy enough for me to cut some out.
Thanks Ruth.:)

Ruth,

Of course I had to go look.:D No, I never knew that either. Who would think to look on the end? Thanks for sharing. Now our rolls of foil and saran wrap won't come flying out of the box anymore. :D

I feel better now, I thought I might be the only one who made it through 40+ years, 2 young mouths to feed, countless hours in the kitchen, foil wrapped leftovers and never was aware of this! Once I had a roll of foil leap from its box and roll all the way into the living room! OK, so I was probably exuberantly trying to pull out a quick chunk but hey, who knew!

:)

I had to look too and yes i had them on the cling wrap but not on the foil ect.
It is kind of  after all these years. Thanks.
