I thought about going with one machine or another...but, now I'm confused where to even begin!!
There seems to be so much money involved up front and then there is the whole issue of being reimbursed! We have two in college and one college is 30,000 a year! I don't know if I'm willing to wait to be reimbursed and then have to grovel over in order to get my money!!
Where do you all recommend that I begin my home testing journey? I've read all the way back to '02 and I'm still confused as to the best and least expensive way to home test!
thanks for answering a question that I'm sure has been asked a million times already!
Thanks,
Deana

If your insurance pays for part of your machine and supplies then home testing doesn't need to be expensive. Have you contacted QAS yet? They can start the process for you. It doesn't oblige you to finalize the process.

Cost of the machine is basically what your insurance company doesn't want to cover on it. The retail of the 2 models now available in the US is about the same.

I highly recommend the INRatio for ease of use and size.

Click on the QAS advertisement at the top of the page and you will find out all the details. I got my INRATIO machine from them and my insurance(CIGNA) paid 100% and they pay 100% of the test strips. Maybe you will be lucky also, you sure deserve some good luck.

Thanks,
I've just read so much negative stuff about them lately that I'm not sure what I should do. Just thought I'd see...
Thanks,
Deana

The negative is far and few between.. i've been with them for 4 years.. on my second machine and both times they filed everything and I paid nothing.. only issue I had is re-ordering the strips.. but it's more of my issue then anything as I changed insurances about 3 times within a year and a half time frame.. last two times were within Cigna, but changed policies as I changed employers.. if you keep up with them, you shouldn't have any problems. I recently went thru some account balance issues, where they weren't getting paid for about 3 rounds of strips during the past year or so.. turned out to be an insurance mixup as explained previously.. we got it straightened out and they refiled.. never rude or threatening to take me to collections.. I have yet to pay upfront.. but I assume that all depends if you have a durable medical equipment policy on your insurance.. I have Cigna EPO and as long as they file thru Gentiva, I pay nothing.

I started with the ProTime and wasn't all that thrilled, last year I went to the INRatio and love it..
