I need to try to find another in-network provider for my INRatio test strips. My "middle-man" company for QAS (since it's not in-network for Empire BC/BS), Orsini, is charging $325 for a box of 12 test strips. QAS's retail price is $156. With my 10% copay, I'm paying $32.50 for a box of strips. Not outrageous as far as per test price goes, but it really peaves me that they're jacking up the price so much. And after 2 conversations with BC/BS, they don't really seem to care that they're the ones getting taken to the cleaners on this. Probably because it just ends up in our premium payments.

So I'd like to try and find a company that's in-network that charges less than 325. Rather than ask BC/BS (since the people on the phones don't really know who sells the strips) I thought I'd get a list of companies and then call BC/BS and see if any are in-network.

I have Cigna EPO and QAS has to go thru Gentiva since QAS ins not in network. still from what I can tell, they don't jack up the prices.. but then Gentiva is contracted to Cigna.. so I can't complain.. I pay nothing.. just have to f/u to make sure my insurance gets filed properly and on time.. had some older issues when I was temping, changing insurances, that created a lag time and time limits on filing.. other then that.. no problems..

I have Gentiva's number around somewhere (had to ie: one of those older issues) can look it up if you like.. let me know
