Hi Gang,
Just thought that I would post and let you all know what kind of garbage I was fed when I went to the ER today....

First of all, I haven't been feeling good since last Thursday/Friday. It started during the night while I was sleeping, I started to get clamy and sweaty and nausiated (This was after I took 80 mg of Lasix and the fluid left me) and then I felt like someone had sat on my chest. Then later on in the day, I seemed to feel better except for feeling somewhat nausiated again. and Sunday and Yesterday I felt weak to no end...I ended up sleeping in till 12:30 pm and felt so weak I ended up laying back down 3 hours later. Well anyway, I called the doctor's office and his nurse wouldn't even bother to see about getting me into see the PCP, and told me to go to the ER, so I went today, and all the doc's could say was "You Need To Stop Eating...Your Diabetes is Out Of Control" It was like he didn't even listen to what I was saying to him....I told him everything I just posted here, and all he could do is blame it on my diabetes....Sorry to vent, but I just wanted to let you all know how frustrating the medical field can be and is most of the time. Harrybaby    :(

Hi HarryBaby,

I think we all deal with the same run around from doctors who don't know us and even those who do know our case. I believe that they don't always mean to be so patronizing but usually just don't knbow how to kindly express the fact that they have no earthly idea what is going on! I am sorry you had to deal with this and do hope that you get to feeling better soon.

Take care (as much as is possible)

Erica

oh, Harry!

oh, Harry!

oh, what a bummer. Could you be coming down with that horrid flu everyone's been talking about? Hope not!!

Just wanted to send you a smile :D and hope that today is going a little better for you.

Hi Yaps, Marge and Erica,

I don't know what's going on...it seems as if one minute I am really tired and weak, and the next I am fine. (right now I am fine) As I told the doctor, I am wondering if it had anything to do with my having to take a double dose of Lasix and then lose all the fluid...I am wondering if this is a side effect of some sort....Anyway, Just wanted to thank you guys for your moral support, and I hope this doesn't turn out to be something serious...because as Ross puts it...."I will have to sick the boyz on them...LOL" Harry :D :D

Hi Harry, sorry you have been feeling so bad. The ER might now have really been dismissing you as much as you think though. If your blood sugar level is too high than all those little sites in your blood that would otherwise be bringing your heart and tissues much needed oxygen just can't. They should have explained it better to you. There are only x amount of oxygen carrying sites and if they are being used up by sugar molecules than your eyes, heart, legs, and the rest of you really suffer!
