Hi everyone,

Well the last time I posted, my brother was 2 weeks post-op and another murmur was heard. Well after another echo and angiogram, Robert had his second surgery 2 weeks after his first one. What happened was the heart tissue was so weakened by the endocarditis that the sutures were breaking off, so that caused a whole set of new problems. For the second surgery robert had another AVR, single bipass, the doctor also did some skin grafting using cadaver tissue for tissue integrity. It was so bad that the surgeon gave him about 2 days if the surgery was not done.
He is doing well. He is still in the hospital and on the ventilator, but he is very close to coming off. He is on CPAP mode, the docs just want to give him time to rest and heal up.
It has been a real rollercoaster ride, but he is strong and I know he will be better. I will keep you posted on his recovery.

God Bles!!!

Hi Elisha

I'm happy to hear that the mission is now complete. I cannot imagine going through it 2 times in 2 weeks. I really feel for him. He's going to be facing alot of recovery time, which isn't a bad thing considering all he's been through. Do they have him Trached? Just wondering.

My heart certainly goes out to him and your family. The stress has got to be skyhigh. Hopefully, everything will be just fine now. :)

Hi Elisha-

Gosh, what a set of circumstances. Your poor brother has had to endure so much. He'll be in my thoughts and prayers as he heads down the road to recovery.

It must be so hard on you and the rest of the family to witness this. Take care.

I certainly hope all will go smoothly from here on out. Will keep your family in my prayers.

My heart goes out to your brother and your family during this difficult time. I have been on both sides of this equation...as a patient, and watching my son go through the same surgery. He had multiple complications, but now we are both healthy. I am wishing for the very best outcome for your brother, and may God bless him and your family.

Elisha-- What a great sister you are. From what I remember, he is up in L.A. so you must be spending tons of time on those terrible L.A. freeways! He and you will be in my thoughts and prayers and I wish you both the best.
PS-Thank you for your generous offer to see me at Scripps, but I escaped too quick!! Take care, Bill
