Opening Day is finally here. Nothing better than sitting back and watching a game of baseball. Can't wait to watch my White Sox cruise on through the season and into the playoffs. As for the Scrubs on the North Side, they are not going anywhere.

Dave,

I'm sorry to inform you that all White Sox fans have been suspended indefinitely from this forum. Ross will be notifying you shortly.

A Cubs Fan (can you tell?)

ROFLOL!!!!!!!!!!

Paul, I'm glad you wrote that instead of me ;). BUT...let's be fair...I mean...after all...White Sox fans have just as much right to cheer on their team (cough) as us Cubs fans do...doncha think?

Dave, Scrubs, eh? Well, that did get me laughing anyway...and, on one of my other lists, we have what is known as the "Professional Wise-A$$ League (PWAL)".... In that league, I'm the Resident Young Stickler and the Play-By-Play Announcer for the teams named Chevy City LuMonteCarlos, Chicago Black Sox & Chicago Chubs...but now, I'm considering changing that last team name to Chicago Scrubs ;). Thank ya :). On a more serious note, I'm looking forward to tomorrow...the start of the baseball season!!!!!!!!

Considering an '88 MC LS or a '94 Ford Thunderbird LX to replace the '00 "mc" LS...peace/always,

Dave -

Sorry to admit it, but we North Siders are an opinionated lot. We don't need no stinkin pennant to cheer on the Cubbies!

Aside from all that, good to hear from you again. How are you doin?

Atlanta Braves

Atlanta Braves

CHOP..CHOP . with those tomahawks.:D :D I took my now age 88 year old Dad to a Braves games in Atlanta in 1965. He has NEVER missed a game since (on T.V.).. and I mean NEVER.. His den is all BRAVES. They play Montreal tomorrow and then start Tuesday..John Smoltz has sent him an autograph..Been in huge Choptalk Magazine( gets it every month)He knows every player, ect..My son bid on a huge Dale Murphy picture at a silent auction .signed..Got it for $50.00..now I think he is up for Hall of Fame..GO BRAVES..for the sake of my DAD..:D :D :D

Go Cubbies. Were going to the game on the 13th. Hope it's a warm day:D Have a feeling we are going to be bundled up.

When I was growing up on the far south side, my father followed the White Sox, and my mother always had the Cubs on the radio. My grandfather wouldn't miss the Cardinals. I don't remember any of them winning very much.

My 2 cents from down south

My 2 cents from down south

Oh, go ahead and argue about the Cubs or the Sox - I remember those halcyon days from when I lived in Naperville.

Down here in Springfield it's a battle between the Cubs (hooray) and the Cards (boo). And if you're a Cubs fan it's usually an annual exercise in humility!

But I'm all ready for it this year - we had season tix to the Bears down here in Champaign. That was instant humility!

Bonnie - my son played ball since he was 8 yrs old all through high school when he ruined his rotator cuff. His coach didn't take care and over-pitched him - shame. He can't even play a pick-up game, but prefers basketball anyhow. He also gathered paraphernalia back then and has a signed baseball from Joltin Joe DeMaggio and is he ever proud of that one. Joe lived in Boca Raton in his last years in a condo where my sister got the ball and signature from Joe. He sure treasures that ball.

Wow, lotta memories. . .

When I was a kid, we lived on the North Side, while my mom's family all lived on the West Side. North Siders followed the Cubs and Bears, while South Siders followed the Sox and Cardinals. Made family get-togethers rather interesting! I think that back then Chicago was the only city to have a baseball team in each league AND a football team in each league.

My Kinda Town!

Dave, not to worry - an old woman (me) is on your side - White Sox - go go go - Been a fan for long as I can remember being interested in BB. Well, gotta admit the Hotlanta Braves are close to my heart, too.:)

It will be the last time you see the Lovable Losers on top, enjoy it while it lasts.

My home town hero

My home town hero

Our home town heros team and our world series champs lost last night. Scott Spezio from Morris IL plays for Anaheim. I also root for the Sox and the Angels. But I am a die hard Cubbie fan and if the North side playing the South side you can bet I'm rooting for the North side. Would love to see Scott come back home and play for either Cubs or Sox (preferably Cubs). His dad played for the Sox years ago. There are Angels signs all over town. My son is a Sox fan and my granddaughter has a Sox stocking hat. I want to accidently lose it:D :D :D but they would figure it out. I have already been told no Cubs clothes. But I taught my neice "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" when she was 18 months old. Now I will have to teach my granddaughter and she WILL sing "let's root root root for the Cubbies":D :D :D

Uhhh...Dave...think you'd be wrong on that.... Us Cubs fans have 1 more day, at least, to celebrate.

Cubs 15, Muts (er, Mets) 2 ;).

And, don't worry New Yorkers...yer not alone when it comes to "aka" names for baseball teams...........

Dave

Dave

This is what talking trash gets you:D :D :D :D Let's see, maybe the Cubs could give the Sox some of their 15 runs. Nah, let 'em earn their own.

Dave,

It would be crass of me to gloat so I'll just sit here and look at the new standings.

Paul

GO A'S!!
I'll be at the home opener tues nite.
Wonder what the chances of getting hit with another Miguel Tejada foul ball are?
