Im packing my bags getting ready to go. I would like to thank all of you who have been behind me on this. This is not something I want to do but with God behind me I know I can IM just putting it in his hand. I have a little bit of a stuffy nose with all the pollen and warm then cold days but maybe that wont matter. My son is also sick and at home today I got him quarantined in his bed room  I am ready to feel normal again so if this is what it takes Im on board. Thanks again. Oh yeah Sue has my full name and is going to call and post for me on Friday late afternoon. I dont know what happened to Lisa maybe she felt so good she hopped a plan to the Bahamas. BUt if thats not the case and she is still at UAB Im gonna see if I can look her up tomorrow. But I hope she maybe at home re-cooping.

Whiterock: Good luck your the day before me.
Kathy: Same to you (were the only April foolers around you know)

I think I should start a poll to see who gets home first.

You know you have all of us behind you, waiting and watching for the news of how it went. I'll certainly keep you in thought in prayer. You sound as though your at peace with this even though I know your probably as nervous as it gets. I know I was.

We shall see you when this is completed! :)

Hey Lee. I can see that CICU ward right now in my mind. Having spent almost a whole day there before my surgery, I can tell you that it's at least an interesting place to be. I was all eyes and ears until they wheeled me out on that gurney. When I was there, a tiny infant was being monitored after OHS and I remember thinking that if that little baby could handle it, I definitely could. I can't make you a promise Lee, but I think you'll find your hospital stay, while challenging at times, won't be as bad as you imagine. That was my experience and it seems, many others have felt the same way. By the time you get moved from CICU, I think the worst is generally behind you. I just hope you don't have to do that 18 hour cath thing prior to surgery like I did. Maybe all the UAB surgeons don't do that. At any rate, I'll be sure to give a call on Friday to check on you. You and your family will be constantly in my thoughts until I know you're safely through surgery and well on your way to experiencing life with a healthy heart. Good luck buddy, I know you're gonna do just great!
Sue

Best of luck to you. You are going to do great. It's all about keeping that positive attitude and you are definitely there.

Lee,

I just wanted to wish you good luck. I will be praying for you, Kathy, and whiterocks. Soon you will feel better and it will all be behind you. It's time to let go and let God. Up and over the mountain. I had my last valve replacement surgery on April 1 (in 1983) so I know its a good day! :)
I hope you get some information on Lisa. It's been a while and we haven't heard anything.

Remember:
Today is your day! Your mountain is waiting. So...get on your way.
Dr. Seuss ;)

Lee-

Good luck buddy! Are you going to change your avatar to an ICU shot or a pic of your scar?

I know that you're going to handle this just fine and will be home posting before you know what hit you! I've got some extra prayers going out for you, Kathy and Whiterocks, just in case.

Now the rest of us get to worry, while you're off sleeping....

Hi all Just got home. My youngest son has strep throat. He is staying at my mothers until I can get out of her in the morning. I am going to request a strep test as soon as I get to the hospital in the morning to make sure didnt get it. I dont think they would operate if I have it. I feel good but you never know. The exact same thing happend to Dales son. The day before he went in. I would also like to tell everyone that I got married today. Many of you may know that I have a wife but we got divorced about 2 years ago. But moved back in together about a month after the divorce we been planning on getting remarried but never got around so we went today what the heck.

Lee,
Well congratulations are in order! I'm so happy you and Christy found your way back to each other. Sometimes what's been broken and lovingly mended is all the more cherished. Thanks for sharing a bit of your joy with us.
Sue

Congratulations on your remarriage. That must be something very special for your children as well. Good idea to have the strep test. And lucky your son can stay with your mother. All the best
Peri

Congratulations on your marriage Lee! There's nothing like those kinds of positive vibes to help you out in the coming days. Now just relax, let nature take it's course, let the doctors and hospital staff do what they're so good at doing, and before you know it you'll be walking laps around the nursing halls wondering what all the fuss was about.

You and Kathy (and whiterocks) will be in my thoughts and prayers this week!
