This will probably be short with more to follow tommorrow. First of all let me say that the only time I lost control of my emotions at the hospital was when Susan told me about Chevyman. With a room full of nurses and technicians the tears flowed. My deepest symathys and condolences go to Kelly's famly.
As Susan told you, not too many surprises during the surgery except that Dr was very surprised when He got in and saw the condiition of this valve. He said it resembled nothing Human, and he had never seen anything like it before. He told me that my time on earth would have been calculated in days not months, without surgical intervention. Thanks to all of you who have advised people so many times that this is nothing to mess around with.
The only other surprise was that I believe that I was out of Surgery around 11:00am but did not get off the ventilator until 7:30 pm. Something to with a little scare in th O.R. with some evry low blood pressure. I will update you later on that.
I see that my wife tattled on my blinking nose and Santa Hat. As tough as that first walk was I had promised myself that I was going to try to bring some enjoyment to that floor and to the patients and families who were all going through such a tough time. I made that walk with a funny hat and a blinking nose and a bag full of candy canes in part as my first attempt to give back to to these total strangers just a fraction of what you gave to this total stranger when he stumbled on this group just a couple month's ago. Believe me when I tell you WE did good work that night
I have a lot more to tell and a lot more to ask but perhaps tomorrow. Have a wonderful night my freinds.

Thanks for the post, sounds like your doing great, I wish you a speedy and full recovery. Look forward to more details, but take it easy, and look after yourself.
Keep up the good work,

Steve,
Thanks so much for your update. We really appreciate the spouses and SO's posting after surgery, but I know we all breath a little easier when someone, like you, who posts regularly, gets back on and lets us know first hand how things are going.

Wishing you a bumb-free and speedy recovery.

Karlynn

Keep on getting better and better.

Welcome back Steve! Great to see you post. I think the hat and nose were a great idea. I bet you made a lot of people smile that night. I will be praying for you and hope you continue to have an easy recovery.

Getting home after surgery is just the best, isn't it, Steve?

I'm so glad to see your post, and very happy that you got rid of your "alien" valve. Got a nice shiny one now!

It's great to hear from your own hand, Steve! I'm glad you are doing so well. Sounds like our valves had a lot in common!

Can't wait to hear all the details. Remember the spirometer! Go take a nap...

Glad to hear you are doing well. Just get lots lots of rest and take it one day at a time.
