Hi Gang,
Just wanted to let yall know that I FINALLY got my re done echocardiogram results back...My 4 valves are stable at trace leakage (Yay!), My EF is 54% , My Pulmonary Artery Pressure is down from 43 to 30 (Pulmonary Hypertension is alot better...Yeeee Haaaa!!!) My aortic root has reduced in size from 3.9 on my last echo to 3.3 on this echo...I am wondering is this good or bad? I am hoping it's good). The only things that were noted were that I have Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy and Congestive Heart Failure, and that the heart muscle is stiffening, but right now I am doing all right. This was how I interpreted the echo...

The Measurements (which I am not completely up to par on are as follows:

IVSd 1.0 cm
LVIDs 5.3 cm
LVPWd 3.8 cm
FS 28%
EDV(Teich) 133 ml
ESV(Teich) 61ml
EF(Teich) 54%
Ao Root Diam 3.3 cm
LA dimension 4.3 cm
TR max vel: 256cm/sec
TR max PG: 26mmHg

I am hoping that this means that I had a good echo, but I wonder as I still get short winded whenever I exhert myself and I am getting tired more easily lately. Just wanted to share the news...Harrybaby :D

At last, Harry!!!

At last, Harry!!!

Good morning! I've just read your news and I'm very happy for you! I remember how anxious you were about it, and although I can't really give you an opinion as to the result of the echo, things seem to look better than you had imagined. I'm sure a couple of our experts will be around soon to help you understand what all those numbers actually mean, but for the time being, I'm just relieved that you're finally able to share your "victory" with us. I'll keep on praying for you and hoping that your symptoms go away. Take care and get in touch for a nice chat soon!!LOL!!
Débora :)

Hi Harry - I don't know much about numbers like this either I'm afraid! Will have to ask for Chloe's numbers from echo next time we go and get someone here to interpret them for me.
Glad all seems to be fine with you though!!! Hope it continues that way for many echo's to come!

Harry, good for you for being so persistant and getting those test results! And glad that the valves do not seem to be worsening! That's good news. And great about the reduced PHT! Now, if we can just get rid of that pesky CHF and cardiomyopathy....and the way you are going, with reduction in the aortic root size, mayhap it can happen! Or at the least, not got any worse...

But that is great that you are fine at this point. :) :) :) :) :) :)

:D :D I love it! And the news! From what I could interpret, things definitely sound like they are improving some. Many hugs. Janet

What great news Harry! I hope all this means you are feeling better these days.

Cheers

Harry, glad for your good news in your echo. Sometimes we just get so used to hearing the bad stuff, that we find ourselves a little disbelieving when we get the good.

Thanks Guys...

I was shocked to and glad to see the results, however, I still am scared about the CHF and the Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy, as it can hit me all of a sudden...like today, my ankles are blown up again like a baloon and I am coughing again, so this kind of has me nervous...But all and all I am pleased Harrybaby :D :D :D

Uncle Harrybaby,

Sure hope they can come up with something that will provide you relief. I know before I had my OHS, it was so disheartening to have several good days followed by the bad days. Prayers and good thoughts that your good days will grow and your bad days will be reduced. Sounds like something Confucius would say :D . Maybe I read it in a fortune cookie :D :D :D .

May God Bless,

Danny
