This morning i was talking to a lady whos nan is taking Warfarin, she said that her nanna has to go for a eye test every year because Warfarin can affect the eyes. Dont seem to recall reading anything on here, is there any truth in this or as she just got her wires crossed?, thanks.

Another Med maybe?

Another Med maybe?

Paula,

I'm thinking that there's another med that her Nanna is on...maybe amiodarone? If so, then she really does need eye exams frequently.

Amiodarone and warfarin are both prescribed when someone is in afib.

It's just a hunch.

I've never been told to get eye exam yearly. I get eye exam every 1-1/2 to 2 years for vision changes and general eye health. I wore glasses before my surgery and I continue to wear them.

This is news to me. I actually went for an eye exam on Saturday. It was my first since RK surgery in 1993. Other than the fact that my eyes are getting old and my arms are getting short :D , which is the reason I went, everything was great. I've been on Warfarin for almost 10 years.

Thanks, didn't think it sounded right but just thought i'd check with the experts.

Never heard of such a thing --- been on coumadin for 33 years & started wearing glasses in my mid-thirties but my eyesight started failing most probably due to working w/a computer all day, not to mention age!!!! :D :)
