Hi everyone. I'm new to this web site and it's been great to read everybody's experiences with surgery. Having never been sick a day in my life and being diagnosed with a 8.2cm ascending aortic aneurysm was shocking to say the least. That was in Feb this year. I have a mechanical valve as well. Which means I'm new to Warfarin. I'm 50 years old and my Cardio approved a home monitoring unit for me (still waiting). Anyway, I've read much info on several new drugs the FDA have in final stages of testing to replace Coumadin / Warfarin. The drugs are not sensitive to food or drink. Warfarin is killing Happy Hour! Actually I'm happy everyday I wake up.
Does anyone have information on these new drugs??
Thanks,
Mark
