Hi there: Anyone else experience flaky, itchy skin after taking coumadin? My skin seems to be flushed, and itchy, and red, itches right around the hairline.

Mmmm....I think when I switched to Warfarin it got worse. Anyone else have this trouble?

I haven't had any hair/skin problems with warfarin or Coumadin. Perhaps you are experiencing something else that coincided with initiating anticoagulation therapy.
Have you been to a dermatologist? Perhaps a culture/biopsy/allergy skin test is in order to rule out anything else.

No, the only skin problem I have had connected with warfarin is increased bruising and possibly may be connected with the fact I get chilled easier but that is iffy.

I have not heard of any problems caused by the switch. The way to find out is to switch back to Coumadin. If it goes away then it is a good suspect. But to be really sure then you have to switch to generic again and see if it happens again.

Yes, the 10 mg is dye-free.

I have never seen anyone who was allergic to the dye in warfarin with a first indication that they had allergies. By the time a person is an adult, they have usually had so many allergy problems that they already suspect the dyes.
