Today's WSJ has an article on Cleveland Clinic and mentions Drs. Cosgrove and McCarthy in a possible position of conflict of interest in promoting certain companies/devices/therapies. Saw it, thought I would mention it. May not take away from the excellence of the Drs. or the clinic.

It mentions a surgical treatment ( AtriCure ) for A-Fib, and cites sources of independent review that have raised flags about financial conflicts of interest and possible misrepresentation of mortality data.

I wonder if this is why Mee left? , but I recall hearing it had to do w/ hospital politics and he didn't like how things were being done.
It's a shame if that is what happened since mee was literaly the best surgeon in the world for one of the surgeries the some CHD kids need, and since it is usually a 2 step surgery some of the kids are 1/2 way done and now the parents eed to find a surgeon to finish it, I feel so bad for thim, I know how hard it was for me to find a surgeon I felt comfortable w/ for Justin's last surgery, these kids hearts are so different in how they are rebuilt, and each surgeon has their own way of doing things, so it is tough. How sad, Lyn www.caringbridge.org/nj/justinw
