"It started with a dream......."
When Hank started this site, he did it out of his own pocket and as far as I know, he still pays for it out of his own pocket. He is an average American, with a wife and children, with everyday expenses like all of us. From time to time, our new folk need to know that Hank's dream came true, probably far beyond his dreams and that he is paying for our use. However, we don't think of the expense of the site. I don't have any idea of the cost; you probably don't, either. But it is nice for us to contribute from time to time to help out. I know that you have enjoyed the experiences of others, the knowledge you have gained, the support you have received from other members who have been or are in the same boat with you, and even the silliness in which we indulge from time to time. Or you wouldn't still be here. If you are able, it would be nice to start the New Year by making a contribution to the expenses of the site to help out. Of course, we know that many members are not in a position to do this and that isn't a big deal at all - don't do it, please. I have never met one single member of VR in person, so I am not speaking for anyone else - just me. If you can afford a contribution for helping in this, just private mail Hank and he will give you his address. If you can't do this, not to worry, nobody expects you to.
When Perry came up with the idea of the shirts, many ordered. There are no more shirts, but at the time I ordered extras in case anyone wanted any at some later date, and with intentions to make the proceeds a contribution to the site. There are two left and you can see them by going to the above site, which is my son's eBay site. He gets nothing but his postage and it's cheaper than most. He is doing this on his site for me because I asked him to and because he also wants to help spread the word as much as I do. He is continuing to show the shirts and all monies will be sent directly to VR.com - one has sold to one of our members. But he will have to stop at some point for lack of interest. They are shirts of 100% cotton, with the VR logo on the front - nothing on the back. I love my shirt and others will tell you that they love theirs. They are especially nice to have if you attend one of the reunions with other VR members. How about going to look?
Perry did such a great job organizing this effort - all monies went to VR. Perry spent extra of his own accord, as the unexpected expenses increased as he went along with the project and he was not fully reimbursed. We are ever grateful to him for all the work he put into it. But he won't do it again - he told us this. Once - that was all! He had much dedication to the project.
Think about it and make this one of your New Year's resolutions.
God bless Ann (Hensylee)
