When I started on coumadin, years ago, I was cautioned about taking Vitamin E because it works as an anticoagulant. Oddly enough, I don't recall being warned about greens and other foods with Vitamin K.

When I took multiple vitamins, I got vitamin packs and threw away the E.

While reviewing this forum for many months, I've seen no mention of E.

(I don't take vitamins, but if I did, I wouldn't avoid E - if there was any effect from a regular, consistent dose, I'd just adjust my warfarin dosage. But now I'm comfortable knowing that I can test and adjust and not have to worry about 'black magic' from some doctor or anticoagulation clinic to adjust my dose).

Have any of YOU been warned about Vitamin E?

I have taken a multi-vitamin for over 20 years that contains 100% Daily Value of Vit E with no problem and have never had a doctor meantion a vit E problem.

Like you, I took coumadin/warfarin for over fifteen years (mid '80s) before the vit K thing in greens, etc. became an issue....and, since it didn't cause any problems then, I seldom pay a lot of attention to how much vit K I eat now:angel:.
