Just wondering if anybody had any significant INR changes when taking vitamin E. I?ve started taking it a couple of days ago and the dosage is one capsule, 400 IU a day.

I had a slight elevation when I was taking it every day. Not enought to change dosage tho.

That's what I heard also. They have done a lot of research on the benefits on vitamin E to now benefits for cardio patients. At least, that is what I last heard.

I actually read something a couple of months ago that said Vit.E supplements could be harmful. Don't remember the specifics tho.

Friend was on coumadin..taking Vitamin E..Didn't know it would raise his   INR..passed out from severe nosebleed. hit his head..911..ect... Learned that taking Vit. E raise your INR..thinning your blood. Bonnie

I'm not sure how much difference it makes in any situation. Its effect seems to be more on the platelets than the fibrin so it does not affect the INR. Whether it helps or not with the heart depends on which "church" you belong to. I don't take warfarin but tried vitamin E on 2 different occasions, both times it caused the prominent veins on my face to spontaneously bleed so I quit.
