Just had aortic valve replacewment 2.5 weeks ago. noticed that my vision has changes. I have tri-focals, and now must use the bi-focal lens to watch TV! Hope this changes with time, but it is suprizing.

Hi Craig,

I had a mitral valve repairment about 3 weeks ago. I also have some visual changes such as difficulty to focus on the sight. I feel like it relates to my vertigo as well. When things are moving when I am watching I have hard time to focus to see them. When I change my sight I have hard time to focus to see the new sight. One of the patients at the hospital who did the mitral valve repair 2 days after me also was complaining about the vision problems. Adam's website may help you to get other's opinions. http://www.heart-valve-surgery.com/heart-surgery-blog/
I am trying to give myself enough time to recover to normal since we went through the serious and big surgeries. Hope it will get better.

there was another recent thread on this...I'm 6 weeks post valve repair...and vision was noticeably different in the near focus (worse) but seems to be changing again...(better)...not a time to get a new prescription...

I notice a change also, I used to be able to make some sense when looking at a dinner menu without glasses on by holding it away, not any more.
I also feel more comfortable with my readers on while doing more daily activities,I used to pull off when watching tv, now not necessary.

It's actually quite common. Don't rush to get new lenses made. Give it time. Sometimes your vision/prescription will revert back to what it was pre-op. Hope that happens for you.
