Today is two months (actually eight weeks but close enough) since AVR.
just had four days of rest and recovery, so today went to the track at
the university sports center. managed to sneak in quietly without waking
the security guard (it was after lunch).

after a long warm up and stretch, decided i felt good enough to increase
my distance, so decided on going a full two miles. forced myself to run...
well, jog....well, really sorta bounce a lot in a forwards direction....slowly
in order to keep the heart rate down.

did the first mile in 10:20, second mile in 11:55 since HR was creeping up
a bit. total 2 mile time 22:15 (compared to 30:00 walking!). no chest or
sternum pain, and not out of breath, but my knees hurt from the bouncing,
and i know my legs will be sore for the next couple days. after a longish
1-mile cool-down walk, stretched out then did 25 girlie push-ups.

celebrated tonight with a box of freshly baked custard tarts from the
neighborhood bakery.

Congratulations on 2 miles. Don't push too hard, distance will arrive soon enough. Do you have a heart rate monitor? You should get one, even if you order online. Sounds like your approach is right on (warm up, run, cool down).:)

After workout celebration is very important, motivates us for the next time.;) Gives meaning to 'workout', I love custard. Yum!:D
