Greetings, Folks! I welcomed in the new year by waking up just a few hours before Midnight with a new St. Jude's Mechanical Valve. My hubby even brought champagne and noisemakers, but I was too "out of it" until the next day in the ICU, where my cardothoracic surgeon said "Absollutely" have some champagne, just not the whole bottle!
I thank you all for helping me feel much more comofortable with the procedure, and I'm recovering well.
Once again, you can find my blog at http://heartgig.blogspot.com
Thanks! Happy New Year!

Welcome to the other side of the mountain....Enjoy your new life but take the time to heal and recover.....

Debra,

Wonderful news. I can't believe you are already posting on the forum. Way to go! You sound like you have a great attitude. That should help you get through the recovery period in better shape. Just don't overdo it. You should consider your primary responsibilities to rest, breathe into your little spirometer, and walk a little more each day. Best wishes for a happy 2008 with a new lease on life.

Thanks for the wonderful update, Debra and I hope you are soon home and able to drink the "whole bottle" if you so desire!

Glad to read your happy post, Debra!

Champagne?!? I couldn't even get a lousy cup of coffee ;) ...

Happy New Year, Debra!! Wishing you an unevenful recovery and lots of rest and peace. Take it easy, as it's easy to overdo it. Eat really well, too, that really helps fuel the recovery. I have been fallowing your blog, but keep us posted here, too.

All the best, Betsy
