Hello everyone.
I would like to thank everyone for your prayers. I am home and doing great after the valve replacement. I wasn't able to email before now because my computer is set up in the basement and I was only able to do one flight of stairs a day.

The operation was successful 1 small complication which the surgeon was able to take care of my valve was very small so he had to enlarge something to be able to accomodate the new valve and also he was able make a larger flow area.
I have been told I can go back to work part time Jan 19 for 2 weeks then full time.
I am glad its over I now have a new lease on life , he told me that had I prolonged this within a year to 2 I would have passed away.
I hope everyone had a great Christmas ANd wish everyone a happy new year.

Hi Diana-

Gee it's wonderful to see your post. I was wondering how it went. You're doing just great, and imagine that, you'll be able to work part-time on a few weeks.

Best wishes for a very Happy New Year, and I'm sure it will be for you.

Take care,

Diana - it is good to hear from you and to know that all is well. That's scary when they tell you it was done 'just in time' isn't it? A year or two - wow. You hang in and do all those things they told you to do and you'll be up and about quick. Congratulations and welcome home.

Diana - great to hear all is well and you are on the road to recovery!

Mine was 'just in time' too - seems to be a recurring story here AND a heads up for those wanting to wait.

Take it slow and easy and be careful working too much (as I just found out!) and enjoy life!

Diana,

So glad to hear that your surgery was successful and you are doing so well.

I can't believe that I myself am on the "other side of the mountain" now. After going through what I did, I am so happy for all following me with their successful surgeries - I just have to say congratulations!!

Happy New Year - may you continue to recover uneventfully and have much happiness!

Welcome Back

Welcome Back

Diane,
Great to hear from you and that all is going as it should be. Isn't it amamzing how may of us got done "just in time" I hope quests or "newbies" pay attention to tyose facts and don't procrastinate when there is no good reason to. Seems like quite a few of us have dodged a bullet.
Rest now and get stronger and take joy in the fact that this year "Happy New Year" has a much different meaning for lot's of us. Congratulations!

Way to go, Diana

Way to go, Diana

Sounds like you had a terrific surgery and are recovering well.

Don't forget to walk walk walk breathe breathe breathe and nap nap nap. Want that recovery to continue so well. Don't push yourself for anything except these three necessities. Everything else can wait.

Hope you're scheduled to go into cardiac rehab. And stay in touch here - now you're one of the support team. :D It's 'way better than being in the waiting room.

Glad that you are doing so well and congrats. I remember when my surgery was done, the surgeon told me the aortic valve was is terrible shape, meaning, we got it out in time before damage was severly done. You keep doing as the doctor tells you. If you can, do cardio rehab. Just keep us posted on your progress and walk every day, even if it is in your home. Take care and have a great holiday.

Hi Diana, I like the others were wondering how you made out. I am glad everything went well for you. I'm surprised you are going back to work in 3weeks? Wow.

Diana, glad to hear your doing so well. And-- back to work so soon?? I guess you don't run a jackhammer huh??:D

As far as taking things to the limit, when told I had severe aortic stenosis, I thought that was the last step. WRONG It went from severe to critical and "we should do this surgery soon".
I looked up critical and it said--condition involving danger of death
SO I guess a lot of us get to that DANGEROUS point.

Wishing you the best in your recovery--keep smilin
