Valve choice?

Hi - I'm on the surgery shortlist here in the UK - and am weighing up the merits of tissue/mechanical. I've done a lot of research around the tissue valves, and my hospital seem to be offering the latest options (Edwards Perimount Magna). But the mechanical option seems to be a Carbomedics mechanical valve - is anyone familiar with these and their merits? Much of the discussion on this site seems to focus around the St Jude or On-X mechanical valves?

Hi Alan, you dont say how old you are, this has quite a bearing on your valve choice ?
Have you searched the threads above, you'd find plenty of pros and cons in the archives. If you want the Uk On-X rep details lets me know.

This is where advanced search really lets you cash in. Don't just dearch, do an advanced search for carbomedics in any posts I year old or less. Pages of stuff to go through. A simple search shows almost nothing.
