Vagueries of warfarin management

Warfarin dose unchanged over three weeks. Readings of 3.9, 3.7 and yesterday 2.9.

Exactly the same dose took reading from 2.9 to 3.9 to 3.7 and back to 2.9. I home test and all controls are within the normal range.

Activity level and exercise similar.

Hard to understand--must be spring.

Just remember that getting any blood work back during a period of weeks and expecting any of the numbers to be the same is a long shot, regarless of whether it's an INR, iron, CBC or whatever.

It's a phenonmena that happens from time to time. I don't think any of us have ever found a reason, it's just the way it is sometimes.

This is why I don't worry too much about INRs that fluctuate a little. Clotting is not an exact science.
