Greetings all. I have a rather unique question to ask. I had my aortic valve and root replaced with a bovine valve 11 years ago. No problems there. The problem is I have a condition called pectus excavatum. A dished sternum. I want to try using a vacuum bell to correct it. (A vacuum bell creates a suction to pull the sternum outward). My question is: Is it safe to use after having my valve and aneurysm replaced? I already asked my cardio and he can't give me an answer because he never even heard of this treatment. I don't want to risk putting pressure on my valve and aorta. Anyone out there have this condition? Any Advice? Thanks.

Advice, is talk this over with your cardio doctor. It would have to go through your doctor to get this done. Also, if you need information before hand, go to WEBMD and look into it, they have all updated information as well as American Heart Association. Good luck on getting the information you need to be educated. Knowledge is key for your health. Be proactive. Hugs for today.
