using a photo avatar??

Can anyone help me??
I want to put a picture thing - avatar(?) of Chloe like lots of people have, but when i click on her photos in my photo section of windows and try to add it it says its too big.
How do I make a photo smaller??

Emma email it to me and I'll resize it for you. You can resize it yourself using Microsoft paint that is part of your operating system, but it would only take me a minute to do if you send it to me. Just PM me for the address.
