I am forwarding this because this is a very urgent need. Certainly this is not small talk, but I didn't know what other forum was appropriate. I may post a second version in "heart talk" because this is certainly a matter that has touched my heart and I am sure will touch yours.

My friend DENISE (who is has also been a member of valve replacement.com and underwent mitral valve repair and gave me so much support during my own surgery) has been sending out pleas for prayer for her friend Della. If you read all the messages below you can kind of get the gist for the history. The top message is the most recent the others below are the history (most recent first) of what has been going on, so you kind of have to read bottom to top for continuity.

Please lend your prayers for Della's support whatever she may face. I know you guys understand the power of group prayer.

Jennifer

Hello all,

The last email I sent, I told you Della was to undergoe chemo, an extremely difficult type, which is a last resort. She was all set to do this on Thursday and the doctor came in and said they could not do it because her protein levels were way too low. If they had administered it, it would have killed her.

They have sent her home saying it will take at least 3 wks to get her levels up. That is, if she can manage to eat. Due to radiation or possibly the cancer, she has not been able to eat much - she has no appetite at all. Her family and friends are doing all we can to get protein into her body.

They have her all set up with morphine for the pain she has had. The hard part is this will take 3 wks and they said she had 3wks - 1 year to live. I saw her today and she looks pretty good and that made me happy. Right now we are praying for God's miracle. Pray that she will be able to eat and even more so that she will be healed. Thanks so much!

This is an extremely urgent prayer request for my friend Della. She was admitted Monday for severe pain - well, they also got all her test results back. Her prognosis is now poor. When she had surgery and they said they got it all, they thought they had but this is the type of cancer that hides. The radiation did nothing for her - she actually developed tumors right where they did the radiation!

She is starting a chemo tomorrow (9/25) called I.C.E. It is pretty much what they call a last resort. She has cancer in many places and has been given 3 wks - 1 year. My other friend from church (Sydney) has gone under this chemo treatment and it's bad - the good part is that is appears to be working for him.

They pretty much put you in a deep sleep for 4 days, but you hallucinate, vomit, etc. It not only attacks the cancer cell, but every cell in your body. This is all happening so very fast. Please pray that all goes well - she really needs a miracle and soon. Thanks! God bless.

We just got the results on the biopsy from my friend Della and it is positive for cancer. She will undergo different treatment, I'm sure. Please just remember her when you pray. Thank you.

I've told most of you about my friend Della who underwent surgery for uterine cancer a few months ago. Everything was clear and she has been undergoing radiation treatments on her entire abdomen. This was supposed to be a precautionary measure.

Last week she found an enlarged lymph node in her neck. They did a biopsy and she will get the results tomorrow. The doctor said if uterine cancer spreads it will show up in the neck area, so it doesn't sound good. Please, please pray that the Lord touches her and the biopsy will come back normal. Her whole life has been turned upside down.

Hi Jennifer,
I hope you don't mind, but I'll type a prayer. I would just ask that those whom read it would pray along as they read, and add a simple amen at the end.

" Father, we come to you in sadness, but also in hope for the unfathomable outcomes, that we know bring us closer to your presence. We stand in assurance that one day, those whom put their trust in you, will kneel before you without blemish, and without pain. Father Della suffers now, and I am sure their is fear and pain beyond measure; and not only with Della, but with her family, and friends like Jennifer, and those whom worship in her church home. Jesus your ways and understanding are deeper then the depths of the oceans. Father we ask that you heal her, and that your hand of peace be upon Della. In total belief and faith we ask this, but we first say, "Your will be done above all," for we say this not in unbelief, but in the fact that you know what is best for Della and each of us. We believe you when you said, "I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. " Father place Della in your arms. If she stays with us, we praise you, and if you take her home, we praise you.
May your name be glorified through Della's life. In Jesus name ....

Amen

Latest from Denise on Della and another member of their church, Sidney, who is also gravely ill with cancer:

10/4/03

Della - Currently in the hospital with fluid on her lungs. They can do the chemo on 10/22 but only if she will eat and get her protein levels up. She has no desire, no need and could care less if she eats. Absolutely no appetite. Please pray that she will begin to eat. If she doesn't eat, she will die of malnutrition.

Sidney - Currently in the hospital - his liver failed but started getting better. Everything was on schedule for the bone marrow transplant, but he had a seizure on Friday. After further testing, they determined the cancer has now spread to his brain. There is no "medical" treatment now for him to cure him. The only thing they can do is give him chemo in his spinal column to try and preserve his brain. Without chemo - 4 wks to live; with it - 6 months. His condition is grave.

Both will be taking a nutritional supplement in massive doses. It is called Mannatech and their are people who have survived cancer and the cancer has disappeared. It is nothing weird - they are phyto-nutrients which we should all have in our bodies, but because of the way food is grown and manufactured, we don't have what we need for our cells to communicate the way God meant them to.

10/5/03

Well, we thought we would have better news - we have a church prayer meeting scheduled for this Tuesday to pray specifically for those who are so ill in our church.

But, neither is doing well at all. Sidney had a grave turn for the worse. Just Thursday the spinal tap showed it had (cancer) NOT gone to his brain. Friday he had a seizure and an MRI showed that it DID go to the brain. Now it is all over and they have given him approximately ONE week to live. Sidney is only the 4th person in the world to have this type of cancer and the doctors say they have never seen anything spread like this. His daughters are devastated and trying to make funeral plans.

Della, has not gotten any better. In fact, her lung that they drained has filled up with fluid once again and she's on 6 liters of oxygen which I understand is alot. She's still unable to eat and her protein levels are lower than before, which means she is worse. Unless God actually raises them up from the bed, they will go home to be with their Lord very soon.

I thank each and every one of you for your prayers. I know it's not over until it's over, so I'm still hoping for a miracle. It's hard to let go and let God do His will. God bless.

Thank you to all of your who are able to lend your voices in prayer for these two people.

Della and Sidney have both passed over

Della and Sidney have both passed over

Denise has notified me that in the past few days both Della and Sidney passed into spirit. Funerals were held yesterday and today.

Thank you for all your prayers; remember their families who now need comfort and support.

I'm sorry to hear of the losses, but they are at peace now. I'm sure they had a very rough time that we wouldn't want anyone to have to go through.

There families will be in my prayers.
