First of all, thanks for your replies to my earlier post concerning my condition. One week later I feel a lot better. I haven't gone to my cardio doc yet, but only because I saw him a month ago, and aside from the moderate leak around the mechanical valve which has been there for a while, he didn't have anything new to report. I will go to him again concerning my bp. I guess all the sitting around I did the past couple of years really took its toll. Doing even the most routine activity just knocked me out at first.

I saw a mention of aortic aneursyms in another post. This is something no doctor ever discussed with me. What are the symptoms of something like this? Can it be detected with an echo or a EKG?

Thanks again.

Sean.

Aortic aneurysms are best detected by a CT Scan.I have a 4.8 cm aortic aneurysm and there are no symptoms with having an aneurysm. They can burst and your chances of surviving are not very good.If you think you have one,get it checked out ASAP!!!

let us know how the bp appt goes.

Sitting around gets us flabby muscles and when we then try to DO something, our main ones (heart and lungs) don't want to do what they used to do. Takes some practice to get them up and running again. Don't do it all in one day, tho. Walking to start with ought to help.
