first of all thank you very much to every one that sent me a reply to my post last week and I am sorry I took so long to post an update.

The lightheadedness has improved alot, but fast heart rate, sob and fatigue are still there and stubbornely sticking around. So I put in a call to my family dr. today and although she is out of the office today left a message for her to call me back tomorrow. I don't know what she will suggest but hopefully something.

Can anyone tell me why my drs would want me to keep my heart rate below 80? I know tachycardia is considered at or above 100 so why below 80? My doctor is very concrned with keeping it below this and something about preventing cardiomyopathy or such?? I am curious as the last 3 days it has been at or above 100 constantly usually 115 or so highest at 156 or so.

Plus I take cardizem cd, toprol xl and digoxin in that order 1 in am, 1 in afternoon and 1 at bedtime. Any one have better reccomendation of when to take each pill? My dr. has me on this as it was working for a while and I was feeling much improved only to come back to all this symptoms again.

Thanks so much,

Erica J.

Erica - I used to take Toprol, and it was prescribed as a bedtime pill. Couldn't tell you why. As to light headedness, make sure you drink lots of water. This may or may not be a problem in your case, but it sure is with me. Now that Mother Nature has brought summertime temperatures to Indiana, I'm never without my water bottle. Next time you see your doc, ask him why he is concerned about your max heart rate. Based on what you have told us, I wouldn't have a clue.

Have you ever purchaced a new car. It tends to be driven more carefully then the second older one yes? Same thin applies here. If you let your motor run at a high spead , it won't take long until it needs new bearings or other parts. If you keep it a little slower....

Or we can plan the numbers game. The human heart beats approx once a second, or just over 31,104,000 times a year. If you slow it down just one beat an hour 30,585,600. Meaning it didn't have to work for 518,400 beats. Which is = to a 86 day vacation. Now I m not a math wizz so if I'm off with the numbers, forgive me. It changes nothing about my point.
