hi everyone, it has been a while since I posted but wanted to get some feeback on having an MRI. My appointment with new cardio as second opinion went great. What a difference having a doctor that likes to talk to you about all the details. She is wanting to do the MRI to get a look at the aortic root as well as get a pressure gradient measurement.

I have heard others talk about this measurement as well aortic root issues, but my former cardio never mentioned them. She has also put me on statins. I already feel daffy as it is, so I am a little concerned about the previous posts in regards to memory loss.

Back to the question... I have had an MRI for a knee, is it basically the same thing?

Hi Bethanne,

We had a member have a cardiac MRI not too terribly long ago and I remember thinking after reading their post that I never wanted to have to have one of those. I had never researched it and expected it would have been like an MRI "of the knee" but it seems to me it was more involved. Maybe it was the medication they gave her. I will see if I can find the thread for you.
