We did it!
I must say if you ever have the chance to take a hot air balloon ride....do it! You won’t be sorry.
It’s not as scary as one might think. Lift off and landing is no worse than in an airplane. In our case, landing was very uneventful, no crashing involved…very smooth for a wicker basket and landing in a farmers grassy field.
The basket lands on its side, so imagine running your hand across a picket fence, that’s how our landing was. Just before we touched ground we were told to get into the landing position. Once stopped, we were on our backs in a crouching position and had to crawl out. :eek2: The sides are padded with rope handles to hold onto, so it wasn’t a big deal. Sliding on your back was a different experience.:biggrin2:
Floating 1000 feet across sky is one experience I will not forget anytime soon.
Oh yes, as tradition goes, the champagne was popped for a successful flight in the farmer’s field once everything was put away.
Yep it was fun.
