I've slowly been getting to the point where I thought my INR was going to stabilize. I've been working with coumadin clinic nurse & things were going fairly well. 2 weeks ago when I was checked it was 4.6. I was on 5 mg/day. She said hold one dose and continue the 5 mg/day and come back in 2 weeks. I did not hold the dose, but I did appear today at the appointed time. INR today was 1.7. Diet was roughly the same, exercise level was roughly the same, no change in medications. So we modified the dosage again & I'll test next week. I'm not happy about this.

I think you just got a bogus test result! There is no way this can be unless your taking a huge amount of Hidden Vitamin K in something. I think I'd ask for another test to confirm that figure. I forget, are you getting lab draws or finger sticks?

Ok, they modified the dose, can you tell us what your schedule is now and how much?

Finger stick. Dosage is now starting today: 6mg/day except 5/day on Sun. & Wed. Will retest on Thursday - recognizing that the Wed won't show up.

Also, for the last 5-6 weeks I've been eating 4-5 salads/week (mixed greens) - doing my best to keep my Vit K level a little higher than I'm accustomed to just so I could get to the Dose the Diet state. Do you suppose the Vit K has finally caught up with me? The only other thing I can think of is the change in weather - was pretty warm here then cooled off.

I still think you got a bogus test result and should be retested. I cannot see anyway how it could drop without a massive infusion of vit k.

I, too, am thinking one of the tests was bogus results. I always retest when I get a reading that's far off.
