Someone posted this pic of Kenny Rogers on another forum, and asked "WHAT HAPPENED TO KENNY ROGERS?" Someone else replied - "ever hear of 'going under the knife'?"

I also remember, not too long ago, just how awful Bill Clinton looked for quite a while after his bypass surgery.

What has been your experience (you veterans) -- do you radiate good health or do you look like you've been run over by a truck?

Personally, I don't think he looks bad in that picture. I saw a tv news feature several weeks ago, and I think he has two new, young toddlers. That would certainly make anyone tired!

When I got out of surgery, everyone said my color was much improved. 10 months out, even with complications, I feel better than I ever did leading up to surgery.

Saw him on American Idol (yes, THAT show) and he looked fine. He's just not as young as he used to be, but we're not either. He stills sounds the same though.

Der!! You are asking every question I ever thought of.....you're wonderful!

I am completely expecting to look radiant and renewed..........my hair will thicken, the circles under my eyes will disappear, my skin tone will be glowing and I'll lose 30 pounds..........right??? Isnt' this what I signed up for?? My vision will improve, the fog in my brain will be lifted.......oh let's see, the horrible slushing of my heart that keeps me up every night will be gone, I'll be able to dance again, run up the stairs....... the list is endless!!!

So, whatever is posted next, I remain undaunted!! I know, I know, there is something about getting hit by a truck in the beginning....... whatever!!

Seriously. I'm looking forward to these responses as well!

My hair is now thick, but sticks up in strange places. I think I have circles in my eyes, but it's hard to focus on anything. People remarked immediately that my skin color was much better. I have too much brain fog to know if I have brain fog. No more slushing, just a steady tick, tick. I never could dance, but running up the stairs is not a problem at all. This is a picture of me three days after surgery.

I don't know about appearance, and I found my surgery & immediate recovery period to be pretty grim, BUT a new valve & normal oxygen levels has been like taking a life changing swig from the fountain of youth. I am able to do things I haven't been able to do for 10 years. I am sorry it was necessary, but I only wish I had done it sooner.
