Hi Folks, To make a long story short, I've developed a hernia under the scar for my draining tube on my abdomen. I'll have it taken care of mid May and the doctor said this will be a minor operation when compared to OHS. I'll have to stop Coumadin 5 days before and use an injectable drug (I can't remember the name) and use it some days after till the coumadin balance gets up. Does anyone have any experence with this situation? Will

Hello Birthday buddy.

Sorry to hear about your pending surgery. I had some "repair" work after my last surgery to fix an infected scar. It is frustrating when you think you are through with the stuff and something comes up.

I am sure you will hear from a lot of people about Lovenox (sp?) which is the injectable med you will use for bridging. I have never used it so I cannot give any pointers.

I am sure you will be fine. I wish you well and a quick recovery.

honestly they shouldn't have to take you off of it at all. A hernia repair is not that big of deal. Bridge therapy in the absence of Coumadin is a must. Hopefully they'll fix yours and it won't come back. Mine keeps letting go and returning bigger then ever. Last round they said if it lets go this time, forget it.

William, a member had a hernia - it's been 2-3 yrs ago so I don't recall the details. Maybe you could search it out. Anybody else remember?

Keep us posted.
