Today I dropped under 100 miles, and have 88 to go to complete my goal of running 2,373 miles. I am now at 2,285 miles.
Today was also another running milestone for me ... I ran 20 miles and broke the 10 minute per mile average for the entire distance. 10 minutes per mile for 20 miles is 3hr 20 minutes. I did it in 3 hours 19 minutes and 50 seconds! Okay, I'll admit it, I'm pretty proud of myself! :D
I am excited about the upcoming May 2nd marathon, but looking forward to scaling back some for the remainder of year, and spending more time with my wife and family, and working in the yard this Summer. (and hitting that stupid little white ball around; that never goes where it is supposed to; every couple of weeks.

Here is where I am now at on my virtual run ...

That's great Mark, but I have a question. Can you enlighten me as to why people hit that stupid little white ball around and persist on trying to make it go where they want it too? That is one game that has never made any sense to me in my life. Personally, I think spending the time in the garden and with the family is more prosperous.

Awesome, Mark. I am personally honored that you have shared so much of this with us. You have earned the time with family - and that stupid little ball.

Fantastic Mark

Fantastic Mark

Mark, you have done fantastically. I love reading about your running 'adventures' they are wonderful to hear and very encouraging to me and I'm sure many others.

I hope that 'when' I get my new valve I'll still be able to run - and hearing about you - gives me more confidence in myself that I can do it.. I don't care if I run a full marathon - just RUNNING would be nice. Right now my running isn't going so well - so I'm doing 'aerobics' and see how that goes. Exercise is so much fun and I think it helps the heart in many ways. :D

Recently I had an bicycle echo stress test - and I hadn't been exercising the last couple months due to injuries and the results of my EF rate dropped from 50% to Est. 40-45% - so I really think lack of exercisie brought that down. IT took so much physical effort to keep it in the 50's and I don't think I have the staminay to get it back up there - especially with my injuries and fatigue lurking in the background. But I shall try and do what I can and hope for the best.

But, its so good to hear about your running Mark - please keep us posted.. :)

Happy Trails

Mark,

You are my inspiration.

The 10 minute pace is outstanding. I've gotten that pace as far as 9 miles, then I drop pretty quickly. You have done your homework and it is paying off. The thought of completing your virtual run during the marathon is pretty darned exciting.

May 2nd is right around the corner. Best wishes for a great run.
