Chili is always a welcome dish at our table, but sometimes it may not be the ideal dish for those with dietary concerns. The following recipe is a whole lot better than most chili recipes, though it does still have a fairly high sodium content. (less than 1/4 of normal daily total). Hope you enjoy !
Ingredients:
1 lb. ground turkey breast
1 med green pepper
1 med onion
1 can kidney beans or chile beans
1 large can tomatoes (28 oz.)
1 package commercial chili mix

Cook the turkey in a large pan sprayed with Pam until broken apart and browned. Add the green pepper and onion, reduce the heat and cover. Cook over medium heat until peppers are tender. Add the beans, tomatoes, and chili mix and simmer for at least ten minutes. As you know, chili improves the longer it cooks, and it also makes for a meal you can easily freeze.
