I finally got to talk to Dad's Family DR. I knew that man was having a rough day when he mentioned a "vitamin."
Looking @ Dads result from his EKG (I was wrong on that) he said it looked pretty good & he can't recall why he mentioned some "vitamin" other than he had been @ a conference that weekend & that had come up. The small leak is in his tricuspid valve, not his St. Jude as he made it sound. Now he said he's not sure that "vitamin" would do any good anyway. So all that stress for nothing.
Now I recall why I don't trust young doctors.)

I think you can probably guess what I'm going to say. Your dad needs to get with an excellent cardiologist asap.

There is so much confusion in what you have been told, how could anyone figure out what the real problem is??? Not sure about the vitamin, not sure which valve, not sure if there is any problem at all, nothing adds up. It's too much inaccuracy for my taste, and it could jeopardize your dad's wellbeing. An EKG cannot accurately diagnose heart valve problems, it's just a beginning step. Your dad needs an echocardiogram, and probably a TEE, to give any kind of good diagnosis.

Your dad's health is the very most important thing right now.

Please do him a favor and get someone else to diagnose his problems, someone with some good experience. And I wouldn't wait too long, either.
