I was a bit shocked this morning when I opened the local paper and read that my esteemed heart surgeon, Harold Halbrook, passed away yesterday. He grew up here in Evansville and played basketball at the university before pursuing his medical career. He was quite a legend, having performed the first heart transplant in the state and then going on to perform many more. What a great man... (You don't need to register to access this one.)
