Hey, thanks for the info! Shoot, 10:27 pm.....that's still early here! :smile2:

I hope it is a clear night for you; I have been let down with these a few times when it has turned out overcast on the night.
The total Solar eclipse that traversed Melbourne in 1976 would have to be one of the most spectacular things I have seen and I can still clearly remember the day 34 years on.
Watching the eclipse shadow roll in from the west was breath taking.

I'm watching it now, it's rather cool....and so is the temperature -18C = 0.4F, maybe I should put a jacket on.
No way can I stay up to watch the thing. My body is telling me to go to bed.

We didn't get to see it here in So. California. We are under rain clouds and severe flooding. I'm in a good area, but feel for those who had fires in their areas and are not sand bagging to keep the water away.

Despite thing high clouds, the eclipse was clearly visible here in the middle of the country. The thin clouds, however, reflected all the light from the ground so the sky was washed out which was disappointing. Still it was possible to see the sort of bronze color reflected from the moon once totality was achieved. The last time this happened was 1638. The next time a total lunar eclipse will occur at the solstice will be 2094 but it will be necessary to go to Africa, Europe, or Asia to see it.

We had a good view from our deck. I have never had any luck with moon photographs. Google will refer you to all sorts of suggestions, but so far they haven't helped me. But if I ever do catch on to how to do moon photography, I would have the chance to take some spectacular pictures.
