Friends! Just take a look of this! And tell isn't it unbelievable? Kanu is one of the most famous soccer player in the world. Now (2007) he continue to play, but his age already is above 30's and his career is close to the end. But...
In the beginning of his super-star career, the cardiologists found severe aortic regurgitation from BAV. The Italian doctors tell him, that if he replace the valve, it will be insane to play proffessional again. But he goes to Cleveland, and some "magicians" repair his BAV. :) This happened in 1996. Only an year later he continues his career like a super star, and even in the most famous teams in the world!!! Now - 10 years later he is still scoring in english premierchip!
NO ISSUES, NO ANYTHING!!!
I know, that the repair is not to compair with replacement, but you know what I mean... Take a look of it!

Wow, didn't know he had a BAV.

As a contrast, i've been told that if you had a BAV and wanted to play Gridiron (American Football) in the USA you would not be allowed to compete at any level.

I played American Football in the UK for 10+ years at what could be considered semi pro level and it never caused me any issues.

Life with a dodgy ticker isn't all that bad, at least we know of the problem and can adjust/compensate accordingly.

How many stories have you heard of people just dropping down dead of an unknown conditon who have perfectly good hearts. I'll take AVR over that any day of the week :)
