On Monday I went to see the cardiologist for my Check up

Everthing is okay thankfully, and he does not want too see me foe 6 months.

Thursday I go for my flu ***, do others on the site have a flu *** done?

My GP reccommended I have one each year now.

Good wishes to all the new members, especially those who have recently had surgery

Keep smiling

Jan

I've been getting Flu Shots annually for years now.

Also got a Pneumonia shot this year. Supposed to be good for 5? years or so.

Hi Jan,

Glad to hear that the old Carbomedics is working. I always get a flu shot and a pnuemonia shot as needed.

Will send you a reply to your message in the next few days.

Always nice to hear about a good check-up.

I had my flu shot a couple of weeks ago. I aim for every year.

I believe that flu shots are a must, especially if you have lung problems also. I got mine about 3 weeks ago and if you need a pneumonia vaccine, get it too!

Flu shot

Glad you are doing good..I got my first ever flu shot 1 month ago..Did I read not long ago about someone getting a hacking cough..I got one last night but went away with a glass of water. Someone said it may be from Flu shot? Bonnie

Jan, good news about your check-up. Yes, I am biting the bullet and getting a flu and pneumonia shot this year. My card sort of left it up to me since I am technically allergic to eggs...only noticeable problem is they believe some of the patches of "creeping crud" I get are a result of my almost daily egg...I love them. He didn't think the reaction to the vaccine would be bad. I get it next week. I'll email you about the bike transits later. Life has been hectic lately.

Re: Flu shot!!

There is another thread here with a lot of talk about getting the shot.

I have never had one, and don't really want one. But, was planning to get it. My wife got one(she is a social worker and didn't want to be getting sick and exposing me) at my advice. Then I went to my cardiologist and he said "you certainly can survive the flu" but if we have the vaccine you can have it" Turns out they did not have the shot and he said it really was not necessary for me. My wife had flu symptoms for a week after the shot. Now I will procrastinate further action. My normal behavior with these things.

Wouldn't you think that a large practice of cardiology and thoracic surgery would be provided with the vaccine?? They see lots of "at risk" patients but apparently not, its left to the drug stores and GP's.

Go figger!!

Your immune system is zero...I had no symptons for a month..then I started hacking last night..scared me. Will ask Pharmacist for cough med when I pick up my warfarin today. This is coming from a person who has not been sick in 20 years. Me..:p I meant to say no problems with flu shot...May have been the dry air from heater turned on. Bonnie

Flu Shot

I am glad to hear many others are having/had the shot,

I had it for the first time last year while waiting for my surgery and had no problems, hope this time is the same.

The shot will be covered on the NHS as I am in the group considered as needing it.

Do they use the combined 3 in 1 vaccine for MMR on children in the USA?

My niece wanted her child to have three seperate vaccines

(because of the link to children developing autism after having the 3 in 1)

and she has had too go private to have them done at $90 a shot.

our government will not offer parents the choice to have them done seperate.

Take care

Jan

Congratulations Jan-

It's wonderful to hear that you got a good report. I'm sure you are feeling well, but it's nice to have your cardiologist confirm the good results.
