Hi Everyone,
I havent been around for a while, but i just spent some time reading the posts and it seems like most of the people that were having surgery about the same time as my dad are doing well which was great to read. So I thought I would let you know how my Dad is going, I saw him for the first time in about six weeks the other day, as I have had a pretty bad cold and didnt want to go near him in that condition. Anyway he looks better than me. !! Honestly he looks fantastic and has no pain at all, is no longer on medications for the AVR, and says he is feeling better every day. He hasnt been overdoing it, and is taking things easy for a while as I think he realises how lucky he is to have come through it all. I believe if he hadnt contracted the chest infection it would have been really hard to believe that he had an AVR, that is how well he is now. Even his breathing issues, caused by his emphysema are improving a little.
I cant thank you all enough for the words of support, encouragment and wisdom you all gave me at a time when things weren't looking good. Modern medicine helped my Dad pull through this, but it was this site that helped me pull through So thanks to everyone and I hope that everyone that comes here has as a good an outcome as my family have had. Keep up the good work.
