Hi all,
Have just this minute had a call from my friend Bev whose daughter has been waiting for a heart transplant for 8 months now! She's got a call for a potential donor so they are on their way to the hospital now!!
PLEASE send everything positive their way that the heart is a good healthy match and all goes ahead!!!!

Will update when I hear anything!

Love Emma

My thoughts and prayers will be with Bev and her daughter and entire family as they go through this procedure. Keep us posted. LINDA

Bev just phoned and Lucy has gone down to theatre to get her new heart!
Am crying as I type!!

Bev is very scared of course and Lucy was upset earlier too but she calmed down with meds, all her bloods were great and the heart is a perfect match so its the best news possible for now!!

Will update again when I know more and may try a little bit of sleep for now.

Thinking of Lucy and the doctors working with her tonight!!

Life has so many "hard to explain" twists and turns....one's loss is another one's gain. Tragedies and miracles alll wrapped in one shared situation. I do believe in my heart that all things happen for a purpose. Myprayers are with Lucy and her family as well for the donor family and for their willingness to give the ultimate gift of life back to Lucy.

My prayers are with all-- donor's family and transplant recipient. It's a true circle of life.

Adding my prayers

Sending my thoughts and prayers to Bev, her daughter and family, and the family of the donor. Blessings to all.

Take care,
Liz

By morning there is going to be a new person, though severally beat up. It's going to work and be just fine, I can feel it.

My "roomie" at UCLA was a heart transplant and he was doing okay. So for a younger person ( he was 62) it should be smoothing sailing. Sending along prayers and good will!

Through the night updates...

Through the night updates...

Morning all,
Have been speaking to Bev through the night by phone and text...

The main gist of it is Lucy is still in theatre and the op is now likely to take anything from 6 - 10 hours making it anything from 8am - 12noon (GMT) that she may be out.
Lucy has some to have some lung artery reconstruction due to previous surgeries too and although they said she was fine when the transplant co-ordinator went in with her then came out to see Bev and Steve (lucys mum and dad), they said think she will be very poorly post op too.

The heart has come from somewhere in the UK but not from our area (Hampshire) and Bev has said how extremely grateful she is to that family, whoever they are and says she will never be able to repay them!

She's been saying how surreal it all feels and has been cuddling Lucy's teddy.

Bev's also asked me to post a big thankyou to everyone who is sending support and prayers!!!
Earlier I told her about all the support on she was getting from everywhere and she's so grateful and was in tears at it all.

Thankyou for the support for them and please keep praying and keep everything crossed as I know you are!

I will update again when I hear anything.

Loads of love
Emma
