Well, glad I'm here to tell this tale...This time last year, I was in the hospital. Our priest had just paid a surprise visit to help calm me...Funny how religious you can become when faced with your own Mortality...I had a whole day of tests. The doctor not really knowing but suspecting what was going on with me. I'd had a mild heart attack on the 16th, had angiogram on the 17th...More tests on the 18th surgery on the 19th and triple by-pass, AVR and Dacron repair on the Aorta...Doesn't seem possible its been a year already.....So I guess as of tomorrow, I'll be "One". I now hope to at least see my "20th"... I know I'm going to need another valve. I worry tho more about the by-pass grafts. Still dealing with blood pressure thats borderline high. Had a Sleep Study monday nite....Man, was that a hoot. All those wires and the guy says "Get a good nites rest"!!! Glad I found you all, even if it was after the surgery.

JohnnyV....a picture of health today! Plus a couple extra scars.

Well, happy one-year anniversary! Just had my two-month anniversary and looking forward with hope to my own one-year celebration. Doesn't going through heart surgery make you realize that life is truly a gift? I've been a "borderline" Christian the past few years, but found myself relying on faith and prayer a lot more since surgery became a definite.

Anyway, whatever future "bends in the road" lie ahead for you, I know you'll meet them with positiveness. Here's to many more good years for you!

Congratulations! I just hit 4 months yesterday and am feeling so good I can't imagine what it will be like in 8 months!

Glad that you DID find us! Keep us posted on that blood pressure and the sleep study. Those are weird, aren't they? My husband had one.....he had a little apnea, a throat doctor did a little throat surgery and he's pretty much fixed.....he still snores, though :(

A great day for you!! Celebrate!! :) Marguerite

I just came in from mowing the lawn...Couldn't stop thinking about how a year ago, my heart was not beating and some people had their hands in my chest. Mowing the lawn 10 years ago, was much more strenuous on me. I still sweat my butt off, but I'm not exhausted. I think the Sweat uses the scar to run down my chest and into my Belly button tho...:D

Yep,
I'm very glad you're with us; now don't make me regret those words on Sunday Chat! :p :p

Hopefully we/I will be back from the airport in time to make the "Chat". Wife is going to Chicago for a seminar for a week....I hate driving to that Airport..
You know I always Behave in the "Chat"!!
