Heck it's to the point that the criminals can't even trust their fellow criminal here now.

That is so bizarre

That is so bizarre

It's amazing the things that people pull off. I can't even imagine thinking up the idea to do it in the first place. I will have to show that article to Jeff, since he does real estate appraisal. It may be of interest to the appraisers in this office. Well, at least I know my house is safe, no one would want to steal it. It needs too much work :D But then again, no one would suspect it.

Absolutely amazing. There was another story on Fox yesterday about a couple who purchased a money order for something like $37.50, doctored it to read $307,500 and actually purchased a house with it, moved in and got all comfy before the mortgage company figured it out.

Like I've said in the past..."here's your sign..."

Pam:
I heard something on the news recently that companies were tightening up what they will accept as certified payment at closing -- or even for a down payment, because of situations like this.

BTW, my husband and I are flying to Denver tomorrow for a mini-vacation (coming home Monday). We don't even know what we're going to do -- other than eat at El Rancho near Golden and I want to shop at Talbot's in the Cherry Creek Mall.

Sometimes people act without reason...

This afternoon I responded to the scene of a motorcycle accident.

20 something year old kid, couldn't stop asking if he was at fault.

Apparently, he was exiting a parkinglot at an apartment complex on his sport bike style motorcycle. He failed to stop and yield the right of way to traffic (a 4 door sedan with 3 other 20 somethings on board who were not hurt) and his bike went one way, back into the parkinglot, while he went the other, into a ditch between the road and the parkinglot.

He and the bike were about 20 feet from eachother. His helmet shattered and he had (probably) borken his jaw.

Plus some major fractures in his right leg, possible injuries to both shoulders and maybe internal injuries as well...

I see these kids on the sport bikes all the time, all college age guys who think they're invincible. It's a wonder we're not scraping more of them off the street than we are.

Used to want to own a Harley. Now I'm not quite so sure, though I can tell you if I did, I'd be driving like "grandma" and not like a bat out of hell.
