BillCobit will soon be headed to Lake Placid, NY to take part in an Ironman triathlon (2.4 miles swimming, followed by 112 miles (very hilly--mountainous, even) on a bicycle, culminating with a 26.2 mile run(yep, a full marathon).

Have a fantastic race, Bill!

Not just yet!! (& I'm worried about the jinx  !)

Lots of work to do before I can claim that title...but hoping I can write an obnoxious, gloating race report a week from today!

Thanks for the encouragement, guys.

Best wishes Bill! I know you'll do just great and make us all more proud than we are now!

Okay..."Aspiring," Then

Okay..."Aspiring," Then

So as not to imply a premature adoption of the moniker....

Bill,
I've crossed my fingers and toes alot this week to bring different people on VR good outcomes.

I'm willing to keep them crossed to counteract any jinx you might encounter.

Please post when you finish so I can uncross them! :p :p :p

Have a good one mate!

I'm sure your preparation / training will afford you the excellent result you deserve. If there was a way we could send you the energy in our legs on those hill climbs Im sure everyone here would - maybe you need to get hold of some of that pasta the Tour de France cyclists eat !!!

Best of luck on the day and may you have both an enjoyable and successful race.

A true inspiration.

Bill: Speaking as a new member of our "elite" club, I wish you a swim with no kicks in the chest, a bike with only downhills and a run with only tailwinds. Since you will probably get none of that; come away with great stories and a satisfying race! I really admire what you're doing and it makes me hope I can do it too when I'm further along in recovery! Thanks for taking time out to counsel me while preparing for your race. Cant wait to see the race photos!
