I see people wishing everyone "Happy Holiday's" Happy Festivites," etc. Let's not forget this year to keep the One who started this whole Christmas thing in your every thought, deed, purchase, and word. If we all did it, just think of how different this whole world would be. JESUS IS THE REASON FOR THE SEASON!

A friend of mine sent me this yesterday and I just had to pass it on. Enjoy!

As each December of the past and this one no exception, I vowed to make Christmas a calm and peaceful experience. I had cut back on non-essential obligations such as extensive card writing, endless baking, decorating and overspending. Yet still I found myself exhausted and unable to appreciate the precious family moments and of course the true meaning of Christmas.

My son Nicholas, was in Kindergarten that year. It was an exciting season for his school's "Winter Pageant". I didn't have the heart to tell him I'd be working the night of the production. Unwilling to miss his shining moment, I spoke to his teacher and she told me there would be a dress rehearsal the morning of the presentation and all parents who could not attend that evening were welcome to come to the rehearsal. Fortunately Nicholas seemed happy with the compromise.

The morning of the dress rehearsal I skidded in 10 minutes before it began and found a spot on the cafeteria floor and sat down. As I waited students were led into the room...each class accompanied by their teacher and ordered to sit cross-legged on the floor. Then, each group, one by one rose to perform their song.

Because the public school system had long stopped referring to the holiday as Christmas, I didn't expect anything other than fun commercial entertainment. Songs of reindeer...Santa Claus...snowflakes and good cheer. When my son's class rose to sing "Christmas Love," I was slightly taken back by the bold title.

Nicholas was aglow as were all of his classmates adorned in fuzzy mittens and red sweaters and bright snowcaps upon their heards. Those in the front row...center sage... held up large letters...one by one..to spell out the title of the song. As the class would sing "C' is for Christmas, a child would hold up the letter "C" etc. until the complete title was displayed.

Their performance was going smoothly, until suddenly we noticed a very shy and quiet little girl in the front row was holding her "M" upside down! Totally unaware that her "M" now appeared as "W," she glanced around wondering why all of the snickers from other students and some of the parents. She had no idea they were laughing at her. The teachers tried to shush the students but the laughter continued until the last letter was raised and we all saw it together. A hush came over the audience and dry eyes teared up a bit! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

In that instant we understood why we were there. Why we celebrated the Holiday in the first place....why even in the chaos there was a purpose for all of our festivities. For when the last letter was held up, the message read loud and clear:

"Christwas Love"

HAVE A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE AND A HEALTHY HAPPY NEW YEAR! ! !
