The Kiss...

He had just saved her from a fire in her house, rescuing her by carrying her out of the house into her front yard, while he continued to fight the fire. She was pregnant. The firefighter was afraid of her at first, because he had never been around a Doberman before. When he finally got done putting the fire out, he sat down to catch his breath and rest. A photographer from the Charlotte, North Carolina newspaper, "The Observer," noticed this red Doberman in the distance looking at the fireman. He saw her walking straight toward the fireman and wondered what she was going to do. As he raised his camera, she came up to the tired man who had saved her life and the lives of her babies, and kissed him, just as the photographer snapped this photograph.

This is the kind of thing that I live for. I have always been and will always be an animal lover through and through. When I saw this I made sure I grabbed my cat Bandit, and gave him a really good hug....Harrybaby :D :D :D

I agree -

I agree -

animals bring joy to our lives and make it worth living. God really outdid himself when he gave us our furry friends.

Thanks for posting this beautiful photo. It was definitely a mood lifter this morning. :)

Yaps,

Usually before I post an E-Mail story or picture forwarded to me I check with www.snopes.com first. As a firefighter, I got this forwarded to me early this year. Before I forwarded the story I checked with snopes.com and found "the rest of the story".

http://www.snopes.com/photos/animals/gratitude.asp

As they say, "Real picture, inaccurate description".

Jeff Clark, the firefighter in the picture, expained that he didn't rescue the dog,

"We didn't do anything (special) to save Cinnamon. When we have a house fire, we have to do a primary search. There could be people home and inside. Our first major concern is life safety. That house was full of smoke and we couldn't see it very well. All I saw was a dog run out, and one was (already) in the backyard. I think Cinnamon got out the door herself.

The dog approached me. As soon as I knelt down and took my mask off, Patrick (Patrick Schneider, the photographer) was coming around the corner of the house and took the picture."

The story finished that Cinnamon eventually gave birth to five puppies and lived for several more years until she passed away in January 2005 (the fire happened in 1999).

We have saved a few pets in my time as a firefighter. I remember one time the woman who lived there kept wanting to go back in an get her cat. One of our guys went in and finally found the cat. When he picked up the cat he quickly found out he was glad he was wearing full fire gear and gloves     . That was one POed cat :D . She came out with very vocal protests, claws and all  :D . Owner and pet were safely reunited.

Anyway, it was a very touching photo. Thanks for sharing.

May God Bless,

Danny

Yaps,

No apology necessary. After being burned several times from "real sounding" E-Mails I usually check snopes first. I recently got an E-Mail that forwarded a Houston resident's supposed experience in volunteering to help people in the Dome. It was a nasty, no thank you tale. Snopes still can't verify one way or the other but they say many volunteers there talk highly of the misplaced New Orleans residents. As a matter of fact a Doctor forwarded it to a friend who forwarded it on WITH THE DOCTOR'S SIGNATURE BLOCK. He started receiving so many inquiries thinking he was the "volunteer" that he posted a denial that it was him and apologized for ever forwarding it  .

As the Sarge from Hill Street Blues always said "Let's be careful out there" :D :D :D .

It was a good picture that showed the true compassion between animal and human. Thanks again for posting.

May God Bless,

Danny

I check out Urban Lengends when I get e-mails about amazing and incredible stuff. I never forward till I've checked out the truthfulness.

But, this was a really neat photo. So who cares!

I like to think Cinnamon was still thanking the firefighter for saving her home. I feel warm and fuzzy looking at this picture so I don't care if the story was changed a little.

Thanks for sharing Yaps.
